• WesternDigital SATA2 seeriate kettad, millel on tabelis ! märk, kannavad SATA ketaste tüübitähist (vastav tähis on märgitud ! järel). Põhjus: WesternDigital vahetas detsembris 2005 osade seniste SATA ketaste elektroonika SATA2 elektroonika vastu, kuid ei muutnud tüübitähist (Näide: NOV.2005 toodetud WD800JD on SATA, kuid JAN.2006 toodetud WD800JD on SATA2).

Kehtib tootmises olevate 3,5" 7200rpm kettaseeriate puhul, vanadega on midaiganes muudmoodi, ka 2,5" ja väliste kettakarpidega võib teistmoodi olla (välistel on tavaliselt 1a); Samuti on kõik SCSI kettad tavaliselt 5a garantiiga igal tootjal; Eesti edasimüüjad võivad aga üldse piirduda 1a garantiiga.

• WD garantii: 5a (Caviar RE, Raptor); 3a (Caviar SE), alates 18.07.2005, osalt ka varem.
• HITACHI garantii: 5a (E7K500); 3a (muud), alates 25.04.2005
• SAMSUNG'i garantii: 3a
• MAXTOR'i garantii: 5a (MaXLine); 3a (DiamondMax), alates 12.09.2004
• EXCELSTOR'i garantii: 3a

Tehasegarantii arvestatakse tavaliselt ketta tehasest hulgimüüjale saatmise kuupäevast, mitte ketta valmistamise kuupäevast (aga võib olla ka teisiti).
